Cynthia Starflower of San Ildefonso Pueblo

Cynthia Star Flower Dunlap Watts, b. 1959

"On my work I try to take my time and not rush~ because if you rush they don't come out good. I used to watch Carmelita and Carlos [Dunlap]. They would encourage me. I started with little ones and got to larger ones. I do all my work myself.
I live in Cortez [Colorado], and I work there. My husband started encouraging me more after I moved to Colorado. He encouraged me to keep it up. He's making buffalos and bears, and my daughter Latisha makes small ones, and my son Andrew makes and paints his pots.
Everybody likes my polishing and painting. It's coming out a lot better now than before. My morn made me do it and keep trying."
